Music is what I do. It's how I breathe, it's how I survive,
it's the blood in my veins that keeps me on the Earth. If I didn't
have music, I wouldn't be here; as dramatic as that sounds, I
assure you that it's true. Music is my catharsis, it's my
solace, and it's my soul. I have it on always, no matter what I'm
doing, if at all possible. While I sleep, while I read, while I'm
on the computer; All. The. Time. AFI, Evanescence, The Dresden Dolls, Lacuna
Coil, and In This Moment are but a fraction of what I listen
to, but I'm not going to get into the whole list here. It would
take up far too much space. Some day I'll compile a list of
everything I listen to, in order.
I've done it before.
Which brings me to another of the motley crew of qualities that makes up my personality. I'm VERY impulsive. I prefer chaos to
order, and that's the way I live my life. I'm disorganized, I lose
half of everything I touch, and that's fine by me. It's who I am. I
tend to leave trails of things in my wake, and I tend to be quite
forgetful.
Despite the gravity of this self-summary, I'm really a goofball. I
love making people laugh, and I'm quite good at doing it. I'm very
sarcastic and self-deprecating. This is the most I've ever written
in a profile about myself.
I get along best with people who are like me: People who aren't
afraid to show who and what they are, and people who want to change
things that need to be. I'm an activist, especially for gay rights.
It never fails to amaze me how people can deny others' basic rights
just because they disagree with them in something so personal. I'm
unable to see how those who would take away the basic right to
choose something like whom someone wishes to be MARRIED to can
justify it in their minds. I'm going to discontinue this train of
thought before I really get myself going.
There are other things, as well. Women's rights, freedom from
religious persecution (which is STILL something that needs to be
fought for, despite being one of the principles the country was
founded on; figure that one out), the environment, and many facets
of education, i.e. sex education, which needs to be entirely
revamped, and the way many subjects are taught altogether,
especially English and Science subjects; especially for
girls.
Sexism is still rampant, my friends.
I'm very supportive of self-expression, and I have no respect for
those who judge me based on the fact that I'm willing to express
myself. I love tattoos, though I currently don't have any, and I
think all people should feel like they can dress and act and do
little things such as style their hair the way that THEY want to
instead of feeling repressed into a little box by the strictures of
an uncompromising society. Which is, unfortunately, more often the
case than not.
I'm forever reading, I have stacks and stacks of books, a veritable
library. I have a particular affinity for supernatural romances,
especially those having to do with vampires. That being said,
Anne Rice is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE author EVER. Others include
Dean Koontz, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, Nora
Roberts, Lynsay Sand and several others who I can't remember
right now but will add as I think of them. I'm not the best for
remembering names.
I love the supernatural. I love vampires in particular. They
fascinate me and if I were given the choice, I would be a vampire.
Deduce from that what you will, but there it is. I'm a very dark
person, I find beauty in darkness, in things that most other people
would find disturbing. I think pain, both emotional and physical,
is one of the strongest, most viable muses people have. That's what
I respond to most. Anger, pain, rage, loss; I suppose I'm
classified as Goth, Punk, and Emo rocker chick, among other
things.
I love choppers. NOT SPORT BIKES. There is a DIFFERENCE of EPIC
PROPORTIONS there. I love Jesse James, and I idolize Indian
Larry. Along with the aforementioned Goth, Punk, and Emo, there's
a bit of bike chick in there too.
There's several more facets, but I've run out of patience for now.
